From the postage stamp series of blank note cards.

When founder Dan Finnegan named the gallery LibertyTown, he had in mind the history of the area on which the building sits. Oral history suggests the area was home to an early freed slave settlement and contained one of the only paths they could walk without a "pass,” which became known as Liberty Street. The gallery was founded in 2002, when first-class postage cost 37 cents.
